Seattle’s experimental noise outfit Barnacle is fronted by multi-instrumentalist Brent Carpenter and has attached itself to the pier pillings of the apocalypse for a front row seat… waiting.

With glitchy noise-loops, strange instrumentation, raunchy guitar feedback and signal deconstruction… Barnacle creates ambient soundscapes, and unique instrumentals with a pinch of electronic music, and a healthy dose of straight noise.

Barnacle’s songs are arranged and composed through improvisation, recorded live and manupulated using techniques tied to gear with bizarre, and random behavoir.

Brent plans to perform as Barnacle in the near future. With over three decades of music-making in Seattle, his drive for prolificity and output pushes him to create constantly. Brent found himself without a band 2021 when The Grindylow decided to call it quits after 11 years running.
